Note:
Elecsys 2010 from Roche Diagnostics is a fully automated, random-access, software-controlled immunoassay system. It is available as a rotor system and rack system. The differences between the two configurations will be explained in detail in the various sections of the Operation Manual.
The Elecsys 2010 analyzer was designed for in vitro, quantitative and qualitative determinations, for a wide variety of tests. The rotor and rack systems have an hourly output of approximately 86 tests.
The Elecsys 2010 analyzer can be placed on a bench, saving space in the laboratory. System management is simple; this minimizes the possibility of manual errors. Information on reagents, calibrators and controls is automatically entered into the software via barcode.
The system includes the analyzer, which performs all the functions necessary for the automated processing of samples and tests, and a control unit that controls the analyzer through the user software. The automatic process begins with the recording of patient samples – contained in tubes with barcodes – and ends with the detection of electrochemiluminescence and the transmission of results.
The transmission of data to and from the analyzer, the evaluation of the results, the documentation and quality control are carried out by the software. In addition, the software manages data over the network, between a laboratory information system (LIS, Laboratory Information System) and 2010.
